Jordos ek4 sir
The term ‘Street Car’ gets thrown around too often now. I’ve probably been guilty of it myself, declaring my 180sx ‘just a street car‘. All the while, its waxed within an inch of its life, there isnt a stone chip or a piece of dirt in sight.
Thankfully, people like Jordo are around to keep the true meaning of street car alive and make sure people like me are kept in check from getting too far ahead of ourselves.
I remember a time when those words meant something entirely different. Late nights in petrol stations, down the port road, in the middle of nowhere. Dailying B16s, 20-valves, Mivecs or maybe a K-Series if you were an electrician or some other kind of wealthy apprentice. Nobody gave a shit about stone chips, a little bit of rust or being able to eat your breakfast off your rocker cover.
I think this pre-facelift EK4 SiR is the perfect example of my ideologies. A deep purple civic, with red seats, white mirrors and white wheels, on paper, isn’t something that really works. But just look at it, 2012 street perfection in its finest form.
Ready for whatever was about to be thrown at it and Jordo still throws a fair bit at it, albeit periodically. Presentable, usable, not mint but perfectly capable. Blissful & fantastic.
